Ipad Air Mini Jack

If you have a great pair of wired headphones and you’re in the market for a new iPad Pro, make sure to add a dongle to your shopping cart. Both of the most recent iPad Pro models — the 12.9″ and 11″ options — have ditched the standard 3.5 mm headphone jack, instead featuring only a USB-C port.

Apple might remove the headphone jack from its next entry-level iPad

And now, the company seems poised to eliminate it from the iPad altogether: according to purported renders of an upcoming redesign of the entry-level model, the 3.5mm connector is about to be a goner there as well. It’s a substantial redesign from the classic iPad design that has been left largely untouched for years; Apple increased the display size slightly in 2017 and has made other internal hardware upgrades, but the overall look has remained consistent. MySmartPrice reports that the screen should be larger than the current 10.2-inch model, and there’s a redesigned camera on the iPad’s back reminiscent of the module from the iPhone X.

The new iPad mini looks great, but it’s lost one feature: The headphone jack

Forget the iPhone 13; the real star of Apple’s “California Streaming” event was the new iPad mini. But Apple did remove one feature that its predecessor, the 5th generation iPad mini, had: The headphone jack. And the connector does make sense on a tablet, which is more likely to be used to watch longer video content than you probably would on, say, an iPhone.

Low-Cost iPad and iPod Touch Are Last iOS Devices With Headphone Jack as iPad Mini 6 Drops Support

The prior-generation ‌iPad mini‌ 5, released in 2019, had a headphone jack located at the top of the device, but the ‌iPad mini‌ 6 does not include this feature. Apple’s iPhones and iPads have continued getting thinner, more compact, and more feature rich over the years, leaving no space for a headphone jack.
