VR Box Review — A 3D Virtual Reality Headset

Now a day, most of the smartphone manufacturing companies are ready or already offering VR headset to their customers. – Like other VR headset, it has a slot to hold phones inside the gadget.

The slot consists of a tray (panel) that can come off to grab the smartphone tightly. Straps are there to distribute the mutual weight of the VR headset and your smartphone.

– It has a cozy pad of sponge at the face side to give comfort while one wears it. – Users have to remove the phone from the tray to open new movies and videos.

VR Box Review – Budget VR Headset

We recently got our hands on the ‘VR Box‘ Virtual Reality headset with bluetooth remote controller. I’ve spent the last 3 days testing the headset to see how it performs based on Ease-of-use, Design, Comfort & Build-quality. The VR Box comes in all black except from the white “storm trooper” plastic front panel. I’m a fan of VR Box looks and think the extra grill details on the front make it feel a little more premium.

Attached to the side and top is a stretchy elastic strap that you can easily adjust to fit your head no matter how wonky it is. Let me know if you’ve found any apps that use the camera in the comments below as I couldn’t find any in the play store yet.

You have the option to move each lens individual forwards, backwards, left & right allowing you to get the optimal focus. One design flaw I found was that when trying to get my phone back in the VR Box whilst wearing the headset the insert kept catching.

The shape of the insert allows it to easily catch at the wrong angle stopping it from sliding into the headset.

A quick solution to this is to bend it into a slightly curved shape so it fits the contours of your head more closely (worked for me). Placing these yourself allows you to avoid any phone buttons being pressed when you insert your smartphone. VR Box headset & insert, Instruction guide, 3 x sticky rubber sponge pads, lens cleaning cloth, Mystery sachet, Strange plastic key, Bluetooth game controller & game controller instructions.

Also, there isn’t an easy way to search for only VR-enabled games and apps so finding the hidden gems takes a bit of trial and error. Galaxy VR (free demo): A space shooter game where you control a fighter ship from the cockpit. Cardboard Camera by Google (free): A selection of 360 degrees photos that you can look through by turning your head.

Star VR Racer (free): A Tron-like platformer where you avoid crashing as the game speeds up This is a budget friendly VR headset so as expected it’s a plastic affair when it comes to build materials. The included controller is also a nice touch and allows you to play VR games straight out of the box. VR BOX 2.0 review

There are some design changes in the construction, and the VR BOX 2.0’s lens is more translucent and clear than the previous version. Indeed, users comment that the device can hurt their nose and that prolonged use may irritate the forehead. this mobile headset is compatible with most Android and iOS phones (with a screen size between 4 and 6 inches) and VR experiences from their respective app stores.

VR Box 2.0 Headset Review (2021)

In this article, I’ll not only review the entry-level VR Box 2.0 headset but discuss some alternatives.

VR Box 2.0 headset Review

I’ve got my VR Box 2.0 today and had plenty of time testing it and playing with it. This is a really important feature, because when I first put the headset and watched VR Roller Coaster, it was blurry,. I tried to move the phone a bit to the left but than I figured out that I just need to adjust the lens distance from my face, move them closer to my eyes and then the 3D magic appears and I was inside the virtual reality world, seeing everything in stereoscopic view. It was very easy to use with small phones like my iPhone 5S, but with my LG G4 it was a bit tricky for some reason, it was really on the edge in terms of height, but I was able to insert it at the end.

Thhe VR Box 2.0 is supposed to be a more comfortable alternative to the Cardboard. Here is an image which I made in Adobe Photoshop just trying to show how I see the pixlation when playing with the iPhone 5s inside the VR Box 2.0.

I hope you found this little review useful if you ever plan to buy the VR Box 2.0 and still wasn’t 100% sure whether this is the right headset for you.

The Best VR Headsets for 2022

With a headset and motion tracking, VR lets you look around a virtual space as if you’re actually there, or play a game as though you’re in it. VR’s been gaining traction in recent years thanks to compelling games and experiences, though it still seems very much in a state of flux, with headsets coming and going fairly rapidly. Oculus is focusing its efforts on a standalone VR headset, the Quest 2, but providing the option to connect it to a PC.

Even Microsoft is (sort of) supporting its Windows Mixed Reality platform with a scant few third-party headsets.

The cable makes them a bit unwieldy, but putting all of the actual video processing in a box that you don’t need to directly strap to your face means your VR experience can be a lot more complex. Either external sensors or outward-facing cameras provide full 6DOF (six degrees of freedom) movement tracking for both your head and your hands, thanks to motion-sensing controllers. Standalone headsets offer the greatest physical freedom by completely removing the cables and not requiring an external device to handle processing. The Quest 2 lacks a dedicated gaming PC’s processing power, but its high-end mobile processor can still push detailed, smooth graphics. The company’s bowing out of the dedicated, tethered VR headset, though, discontinuing the Rift S in favor of focusing entirely on the standalone Quest 2. That’s hard to swallow, even if the Index features a 120Hz refresh rate, notably higher than most of its competitors (with an experimental 144Hz mode).

They can track individual finger movements, making games (that take advantage of them) much more immersive than the standard trigger grips on other controllers. This high-end PC VR headset targets both enthusiasts and professionals, with the sharpest picture available at 2,448 by 2,448 pixels per eye.

It features a higher resolution, and replaces the external base stations with outward-facing cameras for motion tracking. There are some excellent games on PS VR like Moss, Rez Infinite, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, and Five Nights at Freddie’s: Help Wanted. The newly rebranded-to-Meta Facebook might eventually be pushing the Quest 2 and other Oculus devices even further, with a bigger eye for broad platform integration.

The company’s plans to build a “metaverse” will likely include AR and VR systems, and the Oculus division would be the natural means for that. VP of AR/VR at Facebook, Andrew Bosworth, has stated that the metaverse will “build the connective tissue” between Oculus headsets and other Facebook/Meta devices, so they will certainly be involved. Basically, these AR headsets have transparent lenses that let you look at your surroundings instead of completely replacing your vision with a computer-generated image. You can make a web browser pop up in the middle of a room, for instance, or watch animals run around your coffee table.
