Looking at the Sony WH-CH510, it’s frankly insane that wireless headphones could cost this little, not to mention a pair that has decent sound, a USB-C port, and 35 hours of battery life.
The plastic headband, swivel joints, and ear cup housing don’t feel remotely rugged and we’d be remiss to recommend “chucking” them in your bag or treating them at all unkindly. It doesn’t fold or collapse any further to make for a more compact package (although the cups do swivel 90° and flatten), but the fewer hinges the better in this case as we suspect that will be the first point of failure.
It’s worth noting that, although this particular reviewer has an abnormally large head and often pushes headphone bands to their limit, the WH-CH510 only got about halfway extended before sitting comfortably on both ears. Thankfully, the padding in the ear cups seems to be of a higher standard than the rest of the unit, so they’re comfortable to wear for extended periods considering their on-ear form factor.
In focusing on more significant attributes – battery life and audio quality among them – costs have been cut on features that its target audience could do without (active noise-cancelling prime among them). While they won’t have the superb clarity, balance, and sense of space that their WH-1000XM3 siblings boast, the sound these on-ears produce definitely belies their size and price.

I liked these headphones so much that I went back and bought another set for my wife two weeks later as a surprise as when she tried mine she loved them as well. Sound, so many headphones, including Sony advertise certain models as “Extra Bass” to us this is crazy, all we want is a neutral headphone at reasonable cost and we can adjust sound the way we like, not the way the manufacturer thinks is should be.
Dont misunderstand this statement though, these headphones are not in any way lacking in bass, is fact there is still a bit too much but with our settings in our bluetooth phones we can reduce it. Its awesome putting on your headset not having to wonder if the battery will have to be recharged or worse go dead on you while you listen.
We can walk around anyplace in our large home, leaving our phone wherever we want and never lose the bluetooth signal. Turn on the headset with my iPhone, bluetooth automatically pairs within seconds, if that long.

They actually did not have a model in the same price range as the other manufacturers, so for once Sony is the cheapest in the test. The size is significantly better than on the Jays, but they do not protrude sufficiently, and it results in them still being a little difficult to feel with the finger.
Boringly enough, Sony also does not have an app to be able to customize settings and audio profiles. If you listen to acoustic music, the treble is stark, and if you try orchestra, the instruments drown in the sound mat. Now you may not have such high demands in this price range, and if you want to be kind, it is actually quite ok to listen to pop music on the go.

I’ve been using these wireless headphones to watch videos, listen to music and I’ve even had several phone conversations. I put the headphones on, and proceeded to wash dishes while having a conversation with her that lasted about 20 minutes.
With the exception of sometimes having echoing with phone calls I have had good quality sound when either watching videos or listening to music. I’m most excited that I can have a phone conversation with these wireless headphones, no dangling wires to worry about plus I’m handsfree yay! The volume controls can also be used to answer calls, plus forward to the next song or pause when listening to music.
