Customer Reviews: Bower Flexible 24″ LED Ring Light White BB-FLEX24
I think this is a great starter ring light at a good price for the average person. Anything brighter or bigger would be uncomfortable close up and make me very hot which is not a great look on camera! One thing you will need for this product is an adaptor if you want to plug it into the wall as the cord is a usb cable. One thing I don’t like is that the part that holds the cell phone always falls off when I’m trying to set up which is a little bit frustrating.
However, and this may be the case with all ring lighting in general, after a very long meeting (2 hours) the light started to hurt my eyes so I simply turned it off when I wasn’t speaking. On the one hand, I guess it stands closer to you on the table so you can move back more.
Overall, great beginner light that suits the need of the average Zoomer or Facetimer.
Customer Reviews: Sunpak 12″ Bicolor LED Ring Light Kit VL-LED-162-12RL
I thought about buying a light set that was more professional but the portability of this one and the ability to use USB to turn it on made it a great option. I also like that I can pick many color shades and light levels.
If however you plan to use this light in pitch darkness then you might need something bigger and stronger. Instead I put the light on my DSLR tripod and put the DSLR on the long stick that way the camera is eye level with me.
