While browsing for BT speakers out there…this one came up with some seriously rave reviews. Updated Review, December 10th, 2018: OKay…o over the few months of moderate usage the BT has grown feeble. The speaker stop catching any signal and automatically shuts off leaving the phone on play. Another characteristic I have been made aware of is the fact that not only there is this annoying beep-beep sound when the speaker is low on battery while actively playing a track but also the fact that while it is on charge you cannot continue to play the track.

3)it’s been 1 month and the left speaker is dead, the membrane has torn or gotten loose *the only devices i had it connected to are a note5,note8,gears3 and an ipad mini so no excuse for it to blow up,why sell a speaker if it cant handle max volume on a daily device* Please dont get fooled like I did by their fancy advertising or cheap prices,it doesnt change the fact these are poorly built chinese products. If you get lucky, the product will work for a year or 2.
boAt Stone 650R Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Review: No Disappointments!
boAt, an audiophilic brand has recently launched its latest wireless Bluetooth speaker. So, here we are with the comprehensive review of boAt Stone 650R wireless Bluetooth speaker, and above all, we will find out it is worth what you’re paying for? It has a cuboid shape with diamond-shaped protrusions on the speaker grill and rubber coverings on both ends complimenting each other. The diamond-shaped design makes the speaker look attractive with a subtle touch of premium feel to the product.
At the right side-edge (back), you will find slots for micro-USB, aux, and microSD cards, which is a nice addition to anyone who likes to listen to downloaded music. The ends of the speaker have a silicone covering, which makes it resistant to damage in case of accidental drops.
The speaker is on the heavier side coming at 600g, which is attributed mainly to the dual drivers and bigger battery. The boAt Stone 650R comes with a 5W dual-driver stereo setup, expect an immersive experience with 10W power output. However, the audio quality on high volume isn’t prominent as it is on lower levels, quite a bummer, but not a deal-breaker.
Overall, the audio performance admirable and we recommend this speaker for EDM and punch bass kinds of music. However, the Bluetooth automatically turns on when the device is on (sucking up the battery juice) and indicates a white notification LED. boAt Stone 650R comes with a robust form-factor, and a 10W dual drivers, giving out punchy bass.

Boat Speakers
Boat positions itself as a lifestyle brand which focuses on audio accessories and consumer electronics. The brand features wide range of products already including but not limited to speakers, earphones, headphones, travel chargers and more. Given the level of competition that is prevailing in the industry, it is not for any new brand to so easily get that initial breakthrough. All the products from this brand come with an added design edge which makes these speakers highly trendy and almost irresistible.
If you are in the process of finalising your speakers and if Boat is already made it to your list of top options but if you are still not sure whether it is the brand for you then you could confidently proceed to place your order. Boat delivers very decent output, which makes it worth the price paid.
Boat Stone SpinX Bluetooth Speaker Review
On the face of it, the Boat Stone SpinX comes across as rather ordinary, sporting a design previously made popular by a major manufacturer. As previously mentioned, the Boat Stone SpinX features a design that’s rather familiar, having been made popular by the JBL Flip series.
The cylindrical shape of the speaker has numerous benefits, including ease of placement and storage, and the ability to broadcast sound in all directions. The speaker also features IPX6 dust and water resistance, which means that it’s expected to survive accidental spills or brief exposure to rainfall.
We were able to get a little under seven hours with mixed usage on a single charge, which is average for a speaker in this price range and with this set of specifications. Using the ‘True Wireless’ functionality (we’ll get to that in the next section) does drain the battery slightly quicker, but the difference isn’t significant.
While you do get strong sub-bass levels and punchy sound in general, you’ll only really be entertained when you listen to specific genres such as house music . Listening to Keep It Close by Seven Lions, the Boat Stone SpinX demonstrated good highs without sacrificing too much in the low-end.
However, the vocals in the track were somewhat lost to the bass and highs, and we were left feeling like we didn’t hear the song as we were meant to.
With Netsky’s The Whistle Song, the typical bass you would expect in a drum-and-bass track such as this was enjoyable to listen to, and the few vocals didn’t tend to matter much, even if that lack of quality in the mid-range was audible once again.
The idea of daisy chaining has been around for a while, but it’s particularly relevant here because the low price of this speaker makes it reasonable to actually buy two units. Boat does state that you get true stereo separation in this mode, but in our experience, the effect wasn’t quite as prominent as with proper two-channel speakers.
While listening to a high-resolution version of Pink Floyd’s Money did demonstrate stereo separation, we could not hear a difference in the sound between the two speakers in most other tracks that we streamed, including Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody and The Who’s Baba O’Riley. It’s definitely worth considering for this alone, and shows that Boat has what it takes to give brands such as JBL and Sony strong competition.

BoAt Stone 200 Review: Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker That is Surprisingly Affordable
BoAt recently released Stone 200, which is an affordable Bluetooth speaker for Rs 1000. The shell of the speaker is made of plastic but has a rubber coating that helps it earn an IPX7 rating. The Micro-USB port for charging and AUX input are both tucked away under a thick rubber flap so that water doesn’t get inside the body if the speaker gets wet.
Despite its loud output, the on-board battery can last for up to 6-7 hours, should you not crank it to the maximum volume at all times.
If you don’t set your expectations too high, you will be satisfied with the sound quality that the Stone 5 delivers for this price. It lives up to that expectation with acceptable sound in a very small footprint, good design, water and dust resistance features as well as battery life that should work well for travellers.
