I get a lot of cookie cutter stereo gaming headsets to review and any typical 3.5mm headset usually falls in the mediocre range as far as sound quality with their typically 40mm drivers and mic quality. When you pull the Onikuma K9 stereo gaming headset out of the box you will notice it includes a Y splitter so that you can turn the single 3.5mm jack into a separate red/green audio jacks so you can use them in computers that still have separate audio/mic ports. For the Xbox One X, PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch it just plugs into the standard controller port or headset jack without using the splitter. The USB cord is only for the colored light, it is not necessary to use the headset at all and is purely cosmetic. You can twist and bend it and in doing so you can help stretch it so the fit isn’t as tight if you have a larger head. The headset was pretty tight fitting on my head at first, but the sound quality was fairly good and I had no trouble enjoying the sounds and music of Elite: Dangerous, PathFinder: Kingmaker, Fallout 76 and more with the headset. I don’t have an Xbox One to test the headset with but if you have the newer style controllers that support a 3.5mm jack it should be fine. Overall this was probably the best under $30 stereo gaming headset due to it’s quality of ear cushions, microphone and the durability and strength of the headband which is sturdier than it looks.
