Review Samsung Wireless Powerbank

The Samsung Wireless Portable Charger 10000mAh features a USB A port equipped with fast charging protocol and speeds of 5V=3A, 9V=1.67A, 12V=1.5A. As a result, it takes considerably longer, actually more than double the time, for a smartphone to replenish via wireless charging. An important thing to consider is that the power button must also be pressed to turn on/off the wireless charge function.

If you’re only using the USB port to charge your device, you need to make sure that the wireless function is off as it can deplete the battery much faster. Available in two colors, pink gold or silver, its aluminum casing is rectangular with rounded edges and has a premium feel with a sparkling finish, which helps to prevent smudges, scratches, and fingerprints. On the other hand, the back of the unit features minor details, such as the brand name and the capacity (10000mAh), written in a medium-size font.

The Samsung Wireless Portable Charger 10000mAh is solidly built, thanks to the fact that both the aluminum casing and the plastic feel durable. It can hold well against accidental drops The only concern regarding its design is that the wireless charging pad can get dirty and it might not last too long.

On the technical side, the biggest problem we found is that the charger tends to overheat when using the fast wireless charging, which can cause long-term malfunctions.

Being Samsung a manufacturer with a strong reputation, and since the charger is Qi certified, we can only assume that it does feature built-in protection to ensure a reliable and safe wireless charging experience.

Samsung Wireless Power Bank Review: Everything At Once

Power banks are a low involvement product and consumers usually just care about the capacity and output. With the Samsung Wireless Power Bank, they are looking to improve on aspects that I didn’t know I wanted.

Yes, it is still a cold metal slab but Samsung has added a rubberish layer on one side which adds a premium touch to the entire package.

It has a slightly embossed circle in the centre to demarcate the wireless charging coil.

The included tiny USB Type-C cable supports Samsung’s Adaptive Fast Charging as well, with a max output of 15W. At a price of INR 3,699, it is definitely a little more expensive than a regular power bank but right amidst the others that support wireless charging.

Samsung Wireless Powerbank hands-on

If we ever get a compatible device that supports the full speed this powerbank is capable of we will update this article with the results. As for the rest of the powerbank, it’s made out of an aluminum shell but the front has a rubberized plastic cover for the wireless charging feature to work.

The powerbank has a USB-A port for outputting power and a USB-C to charge the internal battery.

A button shows you remaining power by blinking the four white LED and another to denote if the powerbank is on or off. However, the wireless charging adds an extra dimension of practicality to the device, which is lacking on most other powerbanks.

Samsung Wireless Power Bank review: Fast wireless charging, premium look justifies price at Rs 3,699

Most power banks are rectangular in shape, made of either metal or plastic coming in with ports, LED indicator and a button. Samsung Wireless Power Bank is no different, but it has a premium look and feel compared to other options available in the market. A USB port along with Type C, LED indicators and a power button are there on the top panel.

I tested it with multiple devices including the iPhone XS, Google Pixel 3XL and AirPods.

The power bank surface was able to charge the iPhone XS even with the rear protection case snapped on. The Samsung Wireless Power Bank is a perfect companion for your premium smartphones and accessories.

Samsung ‘Unpacked’ Event: Galaxy S10+, Foldable Phone, Active Smartwatch Steal The Show The Korean tech tycoon set the standards high for competition by taking the wraps off the world’s first-ever 5G smartphone. Selfie lovers can rejoice as the device features a triple rear camera setup.

Triple Camera Fun Like Galaxy S10, S10+ also features AMOLED screen with punch hole display and in-display fingerprint scanner. The tech giant kept its promise and kicked-off the ‘Unpacked’ event with the launch of Samsung Galaxy Fold. The device features a 7.3-inch Infinity Flex display with Dynamic AMOLED panel and QXGA+ resolution.

Other characteristics of this device include a 855 processor, 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, dual batteries offering a 4,380mAh capacity. This anti-slip surface is where you place phones and accessories to wireless charge so it’s a smart move in our opinion.

It also supports simultaneous wired and wireless charging which is a handy feature for the power bank.

You use a fast USB Type-C charger and it takes around 4 hours to charge the power bank from 0 to 100%.
