It also now boasts an ultrawide view which, thanks to the new ‘Center Stage’ feature, means you’re automatically cropped into shot when on a video call or taking a selfie. On the back, though, you just get one 12MP wide sensor, so you’re missing the ultrawide lens and the LIDAR scanner of the iPad Pro 2021.
3. iPad Pro 12.9″ (2020) The best tablet camera for most people Specifications Rear cameras (3): Wide: 12 MP, f/1.8, 1/3″, 1.22µm, dual pixel PDAF; Ultrawide: 10 MP, f/2.4, 11mm; Depth: TOF 3D LiDAR scanner Front camera: 8 MP, f/2.0, 26mm, 1/4″, 1.12µm Screen size: 12.9-inch Resolution: 2732 x 2048 Weight: 639g Dimensions: 280.4 x 214.8 x 5.8 mm OS: iOS 13.4 CPU: A12Z Bionic Storage: 128GB/256GB/512GB/1TB Today’s Best Deals View at Musician’s Friend (opens in new tab) View at Best Buy (opens in new tab) View at Walmart (opens in new tab) Reasons to buy + Brilliant rear cameras + 4K video at 60fps + Good value Reasons to avoid – Lacks auto-centering feature The main compromise is that the front-facing camera drops down from 12MP to 7MP and doesn’t have the automatic centering feature.
If that’s not the case, though, and the front camera isn’t important to you, we’d probably advise opting for the more affordable 2020 iPad Pro. Microsoft Surface Pro 8 The best tablet camera for Windows users Specifications Rear camera: 10MP Front camera: 5MP Screen size: 13-inch Resolution: 2880 x 1920 Weight: 891g Dimensions: 287mm x 208mm x 9.3mm OS: Windows 11 CPU: 11th Gen Intel Core i5-i7 Storage: 128-1TB Today’s Best Deals View at Best Buy (opens in new tab) View at Amazon (opens in new tab) View at Walmart (opens in new tab) Reasons to buy + 10MP rear camera + Vibrant display + Runs Windows 11 Reasons to avoid – Not a budget model
The rear camera offers clean and clear images, and the extra 2MP bump from the Surface Pro 7 really makes a difference to the level of detail you can capture. The front camera, meanwhile, does a surprisingly good job of conducting video calls, as long as your room isn’t overly dim. That’s thanks to an Ambient Color Sensor in the front camera, which Microsoft has added to this Surface Pro for improved brightness and colour. There are plenty of other improvements over the Surface Pro 7 too, including a boost in RAM from 4GB to 8GB, a bigger and brighter 13 inch display and longer battery life, plus it runs the latest Windows 11 operating system.

More generally, the Surface Go 2 is a 2-in-1 device that can be transformed into a laptop when combined with Microsoft’s Type Cover (sold separately). However, battery life is good, and overall this is a great budget choice for kids, students, or just anyone who wants to keep their costs low.
If you’re seeking a cheap Android tablet with a good camera, check out Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 (2018). These perform as well as you can expect in an older model, plus there are some nice tools in the camera app, including Night Capture, Panorama, and a Pro mode that lets you adjust things like white balance and ISO.

10 Best Tablet Cameras in 2022 (For iOS & Android!)
The advancement in microcomputer technologies has quickly transformed tablets from glorified phones to small, portable cameras and computers. If you’re a photographer who likes the idea of having an all-in-one travel companion, a tablet could be a great option. The development of these smaller computers has created tiny but powerful camera sensors. They can perform powerful image editing functions just like a laptop or desktop computer.
Apple has led the charge on what a small tablet camera can achieve in the modern day. The Apple iPad Pro 2021 has a whole load of features that make this tablet camera successful.
You will be blown away by the detail it manages to extract from a seemingly pitch-black room. It has full HD capabilities to shoot 240 frames per second if you want to capture slow-motion scenes. It has excellent battery life and an awe-inspiring Retina XDR screen. For all these reasons, the iPad Pro 2021 sits comfortably at the top of this list as the best tablet camera. This may only be an issue for the vain among us, who want to look crisp and sharp while video chatting or taking selfies. Elements like live mode and facial recognition make for a more effortless and more seamless photography experience.
This is important as we use phones and tablets as point-and-shoot cameras rather than fully manual devices. The advantage of these slight differences with its newer version is a bit more of an affordable price.
And it has other practical options like creating panoramas and night images. My personal favourite is using manual controls inside the camera application for more precise settings.
These two qualities alone, plus the fact they will be a considerate amount cheaper than Apple products, make for a tempting purchase. This smaller rendition will cost you half the price but does not have the same capabilities as its bigger sibling.
This means you’ll be able to take great pictures and edit or view them without compromise. And it is the first time that an iPad mini has Apple’s Smart HDR feature.
With the Surface Pro 8, Microsoft provides you with the most considerable amount of RAM in a Window’s tablet. Window’s Surface Pro 8 still gives you full 4K and HD video options.
And there are plenty of photography modes and applications to get your creative juices flowing. The rear camera can support 4K filming, but you will only get HD video for the front camera… which is still great!
Levono makes its way onto our list of best tablet cameras with this fantastic Android option. It’s an ideal option for tablet cameras with a 2K display to view your photos on a more portable screen.
These options are great, but it tends to be a little bit buggy when it comes to certain features, such as facial recognition. You can pick this tablet camera up for a considerate amount cheaper than options higher up this list.
The Surface Go 2 earns its spot on this list of best tablet cameras because it is a great budget option. And, it functions well as a portable device you can use to snap and show photos quickly. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 is comparable to the Microsoft Surface Go 2 in weight and size. These last two options were released in 2020, so they are up to date in operating systems and software.
Now that tablets have become computers of their own, they can make your life and daily workflow a lot easier.
7 Best Budget Tablets with a Good Camera | Updated 2022
If you make a purchase through links from this website, we may get a small share of the sale from Amazon and other similar affiliate programs. There will be two different types to consider; budget options that take a good picture, or premium tablets for the best possible photo quality that typically have a higher price point.
As one of Amazon’s best-selling tablets, the VANKYO MatrixPad S21 will easily cope with your everyday needs.
I have tested the 10 Inch Android device myself and I highly recommend it if the VANKYO option is unavailable.
This tablet is not only good for taking pictures, but has a light, sleek design, which is impressive considering its price range. While using this budget tablet with a good camera, I discovered that everyday tasks such as note taking, photo shooting, software managing, and multitasking felt like a piece of cake.
Apple has developed the 4th generation iPad Air, a premium tablet with great cameras. Thus, by choosing the iPad Air, you will be able to not only take great pictures and 4K videos but also edit them with apps like Adobe Lightroom. When compared to other budget picks, the iPad Air can be characterized as the king of this price range. The iPad Air screen is one of the best on our list, and its battery life is unbelievably good, allowing you to surf or watch videos for 10 hours. Moreover, as with most Apple products, you will find out that Air is a performance beast, as all apps run smoothly and multitasking is easier than ever. When it comes to performance, the 8-core CPU combined with 3GB of RAM, offers a smooth and speedy multimedia experience.
The 64GB edition we recommend has an amazing rating on Amazon(4.7 out of 5 stars), and Samsung’s cameras are one of its best features. Tab A7 has a lot of premium features such as the powerful 2.0 GHz 8-core CPU, which will minimize any errors or lags. Samsung also includes a significantly stronger battery life than many others, allowing you to browse and stream for more than 12 hours.
To sum up, If you want a premium brand tablet, which is a bit stronger than some of the others on our list, but significantly more inexpensive than apple products, A7 is the best pick.
To be more precise, this tablet has a great touch screen and an included advanced pen for you to take notes with. Performance-wise, you will not face any lags and multitasking will be fluid, as the 8-core CPU is combined with a 4GB of RAM, which is extremely rare in this category.
What that means is that the NetPal tablet can run advanced tasks like photo editing and will provide a smooth gaming and streaming experience. The 8300 mAh battery is also a great advantage, as the brand promises that it will keep you going through the day (around 10 hours). These are typically premium tablets that are from well known name-brands, and have a minimum 5mp on the front and rear; resulting in the highest quality video/photo. Amongst this list of the top tablets with the best camera, the Apple iPad Pro simply proved to be the best. In a few words, this is by far the best tablet camera on the market, extremely suitable for professional artists and influencers. However, the camera’s features are so easy to use allowing a casual user to start taking great photos and 4K videos instantly.
The iPad Pro can easily handle all browsing and streaming tasks and even demanding editing apps run fluidly. The Pro’s screen is amazing, its battery life is extraordinary, and the device includes all essentials like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a great microphone, etc. Thus, if you want a tablet that won’t only shoot great photos and videos, but will also edit them with no problem, this is the best (yet most expensive) solution on the market. If you don’t want to spend the almost 1000$ needed for the iPad Pro, but still want a premium brand flagship, Samsung Galaxy S7 is a great choice. Although it doesn’t have all the suped-up extras Apple iPad Pro boasts, the S7 has a top-tier set of cameras. The dual back cameras (13MP wide and 5MP ultra-wide) capture extremely balanced, crisp-clear photos and videos. Likewise, you won’t face lags while streaming or browsing, and the tablet can easily cope with advanced photo and video editing apps. Apart from that, the S7 has an amazing screen, a terrific speaker audio system, and the best battery on the market (up to 15 hours of autonomy).
Samsung also includes the high-quality S pen making S7 a great choice for note-taking and drawing.
The iPad Air 12MP back and 7MP front cameras are designed to work perfectly with social media apps. However, by purchasing the iPad Air, you will not only take stunning photos but also edit them with apps like Adobe Lightroom. The Apple processor is stronger than other budget choices like VANKYO, and the transition between video calls is seamless.
The iPad Air screen is also amazing and its battery life is unbelievably good too (up to 10 hours). If you are looking for an Apple device, with a great price compared to the most expensive tablets, then iPad Air is the one.
Both cameras take amazingly good pictures and videos and are great for everyday tasks and virtual meetings. Finally, S30 also has a satisfactory FULL-HD display, Bluetooth 5.0, and includes all other essentials like WiFi etc.
Just like VANKYO’s MatrixPad, this tablet is made by Vastking, a less popular brand than Apple or Samsung. Surface Pro 7: Top Windows Tablet with great photo and video quality
As with the rest of this tablet’s features, the cameras are of great quality and will provide amazing photos and videos. However, the lack of 4K video and other extras that the iPad Pro includes, cameras are not the strongest point of the latest Surface.
The 12.3’’ screen is amazing, the battery lasts up to 10.5 hours and there are not many editing apps this tablet can’t cope with. Due to its large screen and removable keyboard, this is a great choice if you want to use your new device both as a tablet and a laptop. Likewise, if your goal isn’t just to take photos and videos, but you’d like to have the best windows hybrid tablet/laptop, then Surface Pro 7 is the best choice for you. Tab A7 hosts a powerful 2.0 GHz 8-core CPU, which will provide an amazing, lag-free user experience.
The slim, stylish design is also one of A7’s advantages and the tablet’s appearance reflects Samsung’s quality. To sum up, If you want a fast (yet inexpensive) Samsung tablet for your daily needs, the A7 is a great choice. You can attach these to your camera lens to adjust, change, and customize the photos or videos to your liking.
You can attach a stand or tripod to your tablet to take photos and vide on the camera without holding it. Some rotate 360 degrees, while others glide and are tailored for video recording; essential most of the camera features on your smartphone will be available on the tablet. This means you can use it for whatever you want, even if your tablet doesn’t have a camera like the iPad or Samsung Galaxy Tab.
The Samsung tablets (Galaxy, note) and iPad Pro particularly provide good quality. The symbol typically has two rotating arrows in a circular structure and is easy to locate on most devices. This flips the view of your camera so that you can take photos and video from the front and back of your tablet. If you’re using an app like instagram, snapchat or Facebook, make sure the privacy settings are suited to your needs. It sounds obvious, but many forget this occurs (similar error to leaving the lens cap on a DLSR) The rear camera on a good tablet typically have a higher MP (megapixel) lens than the front.
The display on a tablet lets you watch videos and look at photos in crisp, clear colour. The default tablet display allows for a wide viewing angle and clearer, more vibrant colors.
The battery life of a tablet matters when using it with a good cam because you don’t want the camera to turn off mid video recording. Also, you never want your camera to turn off mid photo as this can miss a once in a lifetime opportunity or ruin the moment.
Having at least 2GB ram (gigabytes) is recommended for most tablets, however 3GB or 4GB is best for using multiple apps in addition to shooting photos or videos. Storage space also matters so you can store you videos and photos and not run out of space- over 256gb is ideal for those using it for this purpose.
Cameras on tablets have been more advanced in recent years due, to more apps that can be downloaded and features that work better with touch screens. You can use apps like Bacon Cam, Adobe lightroom/photoshop (editing photos), Cymera, filmic pro and snapseed.
There are digital camera apps, like ProCamera 8, which is designed for professional photographers with its focus on manual controls.
On the left side of the screen the Samsung galaxy will have a flash setting which will pop up from the menu.
Over 5MP on the rear cam is a good place to start for high quality photos and video. You’ll also want to shoot for a minimum of 720p or higher in most cases for the most crisp clear photo or video recording.
Keeping the video recording quality in mind and looking for a high resolution format will help you find your cheapest tablet with the best possible camera. Other factors to consider are the display, battery, accessories (such as a tripod or external wide lens) and storage to keep your photos and video. Keep in mind the ram and processor will allow you multi-task and a long lasting battery will prevent you from losing a video recording mid-recording.

The landscape camera is further programmed with 3-mic solution for easier communication and reduce noise disturbance. It offers the S7 series feel but lacks superior camera resolution and technology of Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7+ The rear camera array offers auto-focus only on the main 13MP sensor, while the 5MP ultra-wide comes with a fixed focus. For instance, if you’re a student and want a tab with a decent camera because you want to scan documents so often and sometimes to video call your friends, you don’t need a high-end device with the super-fast processor. In addition, the high transfer speed and storage capacity is needed to handle so many photographs and videos. The aperture of any camera controls the incoming brightness that falls on the image sensor. While varied f-numbers may mean many different things but one of the important and easy-to-understand significance is the depth of field.
Therefore, you can get better shots in Apple tablets at a higher aperture number when the device has a better image sensor. If you have a high-end tablet that has fast processors, higher RAM, storage capacity, and graphics card, you will be able to load high resolution and large files quickly and choose from thousands of your captures.
In a nutshell, do not miss checking what camera-related software or apps you might need to run on and if the tablet is compatible with those or not. If you want a tab for shooting small videos or recording podcasts, the quality of audio matters, and that highly depends on the mic used.
I hope our top picks have helped you to choose the right tablet with camera. If you have a bigger budget and want a device that can store, process, edits, and clicks photos and videos quite efficiently; Apple iPad Pro is the ultimate tab. Whereas if you need to click wider photos, Samsung Galaxy Tab S7/S7+ is a great choice. Also, if you’re fond of Samsung devices Galaxy Tab S6 and A7 are also a good choice if you don’t need to shoot ultra-wide images.
Microsoft Surface tabs are great for office work, attending e-meetings, and video calls.
7 Best Tablet Cameras for Photography [Lenses for Great Pics]
Modern tablets represent an overlap between the powerful processing of a desktop and the portability of a smartphone. With better displays, more megapixels, and better battery life, you can use a tablet to take a photo, process it using power-hungry programs like Photoshop, edit videos and documents, and share your content on the move.
This list contains the best of such tablets, suitable for basic office work, browsing, and casual photography. Sale 4,813 Reviews Best Overall Tablet Camera – iPad Pro Apple M1 chip for next-level performance
Brilliant 12.9-inch Liquid Retina XDR display with ProMotion, True Tone, and P3 wide color Perfect for your on the go lifestyle — sleek and slim, in Matte Black, Surface Pro X is just 7.3mm thin and starts at 1.7 pounds
Powered by Qualcomm, the new custom Microsoft SQ1 processor delivers multitasking laptop performance, Long battery life, and faster LTE and Wi Fi connectivity Surface Pro X adapts to you, transforming from the ultra thin laptop, to powerful tablet, to portable studio Unless you live in a bubble, it’s evident the size and shape of a tablet make it uncomfortable for photography, especially outdoors or while traveling abroad. On the other hand, perhaps you need a tablet for school or work, and there is no reason for a DSLR camera or a high-end smartphone.
The 12.9-inch version has the Retina XDR display, which will be another helpful feature when you want to edit crucial photos and like to pixel-peep. One small quirk is that if you hold the tablet in landscape mode, your thumbs will end up covering the front camera.
Microsoft’s Surface series is perfect for office workers since it’s basically a Windows laptop put into the body of a tablet. With a 13-inch screen with narrow bezels, stylish looks, and a super-thin keyboard, the Surface slate compete closely with iPads. However, the Surface Pro X lets you focus manually, something the iPad does not allow unless you download a 3rd party app.
Surprisingly, the skin tones and dynamic range are great and match the iPad Pro’s front camera.
Rear camera gives decent images and 4K video Cons Compatibility issues with a few apps due to the ARM-based processor The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor and 6GB of RAM provide more than enough juice to run the Android 11 OS without slowing down. One of the biggest advantages of the Tab S7 is its battery life of about 10 hours with reasonable use, which is much higher than what’s offered by its competitors. Using the same camera app found in its smartphones, the Tab S7 delivers excellent image quality and 4K/30p video with the 13MP lens, along with additional options like Hyperlapse, Live Focus, Night Mode, Panorama, and a Pro mode with manual focus. It’s bright and provides a lot of detail — even when recording 1080p videos — matching the iPad Pro easily. Fortunately, you still get the option to control the focus manually, and the 5MP front camera gives excellent colors and lighting for selfies and video calls. The 4th generation came out in 2020, featuring a 10.9-inch Retina screen, A14 processor, 4G support, and maximum storage space of 256 GB. As is expected, the digitally stabilized camera performs very well, and the image quality matches its peers easily, with low light photos coming out even better.
One persisting quirk is that the front camera awkwardly lies to the left instead of the center if you use the tablet in landscape mode. The main cameras at the back are 13MP with autofocus and flash, and a 5MP wide-angle with fixed focus and a view of 120 degrees.
Cheaper than most Cons Android apps do not always fit the form factor of the tablet screen
The 5MP front camera is excellent, and the colors and details are significantly close to iPad models.
However, as long as you don’t plan on editing cinematic videos and playing graphics-heavy games, the Surface Go 2 will suffice. However, for people who need one device that can do it all — create videos, shoot some usable photos, edit, browse and watch movies — a convertible tablet has some value.
Best Android tablets 2022: which should you buy?
That size sees it dwarfing even the largest iPad Pro, but with its included S Pen stylus this also makes it a superb device for creating artwork, editing documents, taking notes, and other productivity tasks. The display is crisp at 1848 x 2960 and smooth at 120Hz, there’s tons of power from the Tab S8 Ultra’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, and it has a great 12MP ultra-wide camera on the front, making this an ideal device for video calls. Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 The best Android tablet for second screen use Specifications Weight: 830g Dimensions: 293.4 x 204 x 6.2-24.9mm OS: Android 11 Screen size: 13.0-inch Resolution: 1350 x 2160 pixels CPU: Snapdragon 870 Storage: 256GB microSD slot: No Battery: 10,200mAh Rear camera: None Front camera: 8MP Today’s Best Deals View at Best Buy (opens in new tab) Check Amazon (opens in new tab) Reasons to buy + Useful built-in stand + Fantastic speaker quality Reasons to avoid – Design makes cases hard to use – No rear camera While the slate works brilliantly as a conventional tablet, it also has a built-in stand, so you can prop it up without a case, and there’s a micro HDMI port, so you can easily use it as a second screen for a laptop or other device – two features which we found very useful,. What you don’t get – in another unusual move – is a rear camera, but then tablets are never ideal for taking photos anyway, and we also found the design made it hard to use with a case. Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus The best older Samsung tablet Specifications Weight: 575g Dimensions: 285 x 185 x 5.7mm OS: Android 10 Screen size: 12.4-inch Resolution: 1752 x 2800 pixels CPU: Snapdragon 865 Plus Storage: 128GB/256GB microSD slot: Yes Battery: 10,090mAh Rear camera: 13MP (wide) + 5MP (ultrawide) Front camera: 8MP specifications Storage Size 256GB – 512GB Colour Black, Silver Condition New Today’s Best Deals View at Walmart (opens in new tab) View at Best Buy (opens in new tab) View at Amazon (opens in new tab) Reasons to buy + Gorgeous OLED screen + Premium design Reasons to avoid – Android lacks quality tablet apps – High price – but it justifies it You also of course get a whole lot of power from the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus’s Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset, enough that we found it the smoothest Android tablet experience we’d come across at launch. Samsung has long been ruling the high-end Android tablet world, but it now faces an unlikely challenger in the form of the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro.
Coupled with loud quad-speakers, the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro makes for an accomplished media machine, and with its long-lasting 8,600mAh battery it’s a great travel companion.
The Lenovo Tab P11 Pro packs an attractive metal build too, and it supports both a keyboard and a stylus, transforming it into a capable productivity device – though one that’s still no match for a typical laptop.

Storage is limited at either 32GB or 64GB and we’d like speedier performance in an ideal world, as the chipset was a little bit dated even at launch, but at this price, it’s not bad at all. It’s an upgrade on its predecessor thanks to 30% more power, improved battery life, double the storage, and the presence of a USB-C (rather than micro USB) port, but that aside this is familiar territory if you’ve used an Amazon slate before. The Huawei MatePad Pro also has a stylish, slim, and lightweight design, plus an optional stylus and keyboard, so it’s premium and built for productivity. That’s going to be a major issue for a lot of people, but if you can live without that then this comes closer than most Android slates to matching the iPad Pro experience.
