Ihome Weather Tough Bluetooth Speaker Review

I have also dropped mine from various heights on various surfaces numerous times and because of the rubber there isn’t a scratch and nothing sounds like it’s rumbling around. You can also hear crisp sound in the shower but it slowly gets softer with time (took 4 years for me to notice a difference and I’m not sure when it started to fade).

Customer Reviews: iHome Weather Tough 3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker Gray/Black IBT371BG

The sound is pretty solid with its passive sub woofer. I also like the fact it has impact zones in case its dropped. 6 hours is okay for the most part, but depending on the amount of work I had it would be tapped out before I was finished.

iHome iBT372 review: A rugged, decent sounding, outdoor Bluetooth speaker

It’s definitely good to have choices, and our iHome iBT372 review takes a look at a compact, rugged, and “Weather Tough” Bluetooth speaker which features voice command integration and accent lighting. Speakerphone with digital echo canceling an talk/end button, Audio Caller ID (Apple devices running iOS 10 or later) Weather Tough™ IP67-rated water and dust proof rugged shockproof cabinet built to military spec standard 810

The iHome iBT372 Waterproof + Shockproof Wireless Stereo Speaker definitely has a rugged outdoor look to it and sports the company’s “Weather Tough” branding.

Rectangular in shape, this Bluetooth speaker features a rubberized coating around the top, bottom, and two sides with hard plastic pieces angled in each corner. These plastic pieces extend into the corners of the front speaker grille which also sports the iHome logo in the middle.

The right side of the speaker houses a waterproof cover under which you’ll find the Micro-USB charging port, 3.5mm AUX jack, and reset pinhole. Once connected, you can control the volume, play or pause the current track, answer or end a call, and change the colour mode of the accent lighting.

You can also install the Melody app, connect your iHeartRadio or Spotify Premium account to it, and control your music using voice commands. While I did find it a bit gimmicky, it does work pretty well and let me quickly access my Spotify playlists, skip tracks, or play a particular song without having to pull out my phone. Not only does it go quite loud, it is still clear and crisp at maximum volume and does have a nice balance from bass to mids and highs. With an MSRP of $69.99 USD, the iBT372 Bluetooth speaker is more than fairly priced for the features, sound quality, and battery life.

Ihome Weather Tough Bluetooth Speaker Review – In-depth Review, Tips, FAQs & More

The internal structure is reinforced and the hardware is held in place with the help of PVC materials while the exterior is covered with rubber to protect from any fall damage. We put this speaker to use and found that the external rubber is highly resistant and tough against fall and shock damage. The PVC materials provide vast amounts of protection for the sensitive Bluetooth and speaker hardware inside. They didn’t show us any signs of performance drop or distortion even after 8 hours of non-stop use.

You can use this speaker free of any worry that it might damage the internal hardware or stop producing high-quality sounds. The AUX port allows you to connect your Bluetooth device wirelessly to get better sound quality while conserving the battery life of your speakers.

We found that the AUX port handled the signal efficiently and didn’t drop the audio performance. We tested this speaker under multiple weather conditions like light/heavy rain and used it for an extended time in sunlight.

While its plain, black, rectangular shape isn’t particularly striking, blue accents from the rubber seals around the grilles and the playback control panel on top provide a modest visual contrast. It does highlight the vocals on most tracks and sounds better than many mobile phones speakers making it a decent option for music at parties and small outdoor gatherings. The iBT35 is essentially a stripped down version of iHome’s iBN6 speaker, minus features like NFC pairing and USB output and a few accessories to differentiate it and keep the price lower.
