Does this new lightweight wireless gaming headset modernize Logitech’s simpler offerings, or is it just one more piece of plastic for the pile? There’s a restraint to the Logitech G733 Lightspeed’s design that makes a lot of these elements actually pretty nice. Its ear pads are made of mesh fabric, which breath nicely and keep heat buildup to a minimum. Taken together, these aspects make the Logitech G733 Lightspeed really comfortable, especially over long durations, though they don’t do much for establishing a decent seal.
This is a wireless gaming headset built primarily for the PC, but also compatible with consoles like the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch (when docked). Like most gaming headsets of its kind, the Logitech G733 Lightspeed connects using a USB RF dongle, and while there’s no wired option, it’s pretty much a plug and play affair.
The headset also supports Logitech’s G Hub app, and it’s probably a good idea to install it (more on that in a bit), but you don’t need it for basic functionality. You can also set your own custom profile, and adjust everything from the EQ to options like noise reduction, compression, filtering and gating, and more.
Logitech claims the G733 Lightspeed can last up to 29 hours on a single charge with the LEDs turned off. In our testing we found the headset lasted 28 hours, 26 minutes on a single charge at a consistent output of 75dB—so pretty well in line with what’s advertised.
Even after long, multi-hour sessions playing games like Spellbreak and Final Fantasy XIV on PC heat buildup and headband pressure aren’t an issue. The Logitech G733 Lightspeed’s headband offers a good deal of tension, and paired with the flexible mesh ear pads, the headset has no issue establishing a decent seal.
Even before you select a preset, just turning the setting on introduces a notable bump in sound quality. If you want a full featured wireless gaming headset with great battery life, you should get the Logitech G733 Lightspeed. If you’re a console based gamer, something like the HyperX Cloud Flight S or SteelSeries Arctis 7 will scratch your audio itches a little more thoroughly, and for similar prices.

However, it also lacks high-end features and versatility with no headphone jack or Bluetooth, making that high price harder to swallow. My unit is in Purple Lilac, and with the colourful suspension strap and interesting split design of the headband, it’s pretty attention-grabbing. Connecting the G733 to my PC and PlayStation 4 proved no problem at all; you simply plug in the included USB-A wireless receiver. After spending two weeks playing games, watching TV and listening to music, here’s my view of the Logitech G733.
Personally, I love the colours; I think it sets the headset apart from the standard matte black models such as the Logitech G Pro X. The G733 is also available in Black, White and Blue if Lilac isn’t your style, but the colourful and clashing suspension bands provide plenty of opportunity to customise the headset. This includes setting up the front-facing lighting using Logitech’s G Hub software, which was easy to download onto my computer. I also encountered an issue where the buttons wouldn’t work until I reinserted the USB-A dongle after a G Hub software. The Logitech G733 sounds great out of the box, but I was happy to learn that the audio can be customised in the free G Hub software. So while I may have spent far too much time changing the lightsync to my preferred colours, there are plenty of other useful features such as the option to choose from three audio modes – Entertainment, Gaming and Sports.
Having altered the bass levels and tinkered with the finer settings, I was really impressed with the new depth that the G733 headset achieved. It’s really user friendly too, so anyone can easily jump in to set the G733 to deliver the type of sound they prefer, whether for gaming or just listening to music.
Playing God of War on PS4 was still a very enjoyable experience, but there were occasions where I felt I would be better without the headset, since the sound would sometimes jump or stutter if there were numerous audio effects happening in the background. Playing Hollow Knight was fantastic; the headset offered a detailed enough performance that I could tell by an enemy’s wails whether it was lurking right around the corner or far away in the distance.
The bundled detachable microphone worked perfectly throughout my time with the G733; there were no connection issues when it was being plugged in, and my voice was always clear on Zoom calls and over Discord. Final Thoughts The Logitech G733 is a great headset for those who predominately game on PC and are looking for a colourful design with plenty of lights.
However, because it lacks Bluetooth and a headphone jack, there are better and more affordable options available for those who want to game on console and mobile. During that time, we’ll check it for ease of use and put it through its paces by using it in a variety of games, as well as playing music in order to get the full experience.

Even those who aren’t partial to tapered, rectangular ear cups would agree that it looks different from many other gaming headsets out there. Something that people have come to expect from headsets that put a whole lot of focus on looks, however, is that they don’t always sound good.
It also comes with a host of customizations so you can truly make it your own, from its suspension straps to its mic EQ, as well as features you won’t always find in wireless gaming headsets. It draws you in with its looks, sweeps you off your feet with its sound quality and feature set, and then seals the deal with comfort.
But, the first thing you must know is that it comes in four different colors – the usual black, white, blue, and the unusual lilac. More recently, Logitech also rolled out a special edition KDA, which is essentially white with black and blue trimmings. Coupled with its gently firm grip, wonderfully plush and breathable ear foams, and soft to touch suspension strap, this headset is so comfortable to wear, you can do so for hours without experiencing pressure or any sort of discomfort. While RGB lighting is fairly common on gaming headsets, you’d be hard-pressed to see them on wireless ones as they tend to be a massive drain on the battery.
The microphone can be configured to adjust its input gain, output level, and turn Blue Voice on or off. Meanwhile, the RGB lighting zones can also be individually personalized in terms of effect, color, change rate, and brightness.
Of course, forgoing one probably had a lot to do with trying to make it as light as possible, but with it being wireless and extremely customizable – not to mention, PS4-compatible – users will rightly expect the ability to retain a profile or two when going from one device to another. A few years ago, gaming headsets weren’t really known for delivering great sound quality, focusing more instead on booming bass more than anything else.
A small number of gaming headsets have been straddling that audiophile line while quite a few have been working to deliver sound that’s, at the very least, pleasing to the ears. In fact, I’ve left my apartment, shut the door behind me, and walked down the hallway, and it hasn’t yet failed me. You might hear some tiny crackling sounds here and there when you’re farther away and there’s a wall between you and the receiver, but you won’t lose that connection. It also shatters stereotypes and adds its own unique touches while still maintaining its versatility, allowing its users access to a slew of customizations and personalizations.
Simply put, the Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless RGB blazes its own trail and does so incredibly well, you’ll be remiss to give it a miss.

De microfoon is afneembaar en kan je (heel beperkt) wat verbuigen, maar verwacht niet om veel flexibiliteit te hebben. Zeker bij het luisteren van muziek waren de klanken nogal schel en ongeïnspireerd. Wie zijn hoofdtelefoon graag luid zet, komt ook absoluut niet bedrogen uit met de G733.
Al zal je dan natuurlijk wel moeten inboeten op het vlak van geluidskwaliteit. De personalisatie stopt niet bij hoofdbanden en microfoonkapjes, want uiteraard werd er ook RGB-verlichting voorzien.

My head is on the bigger side and I prefer to wear my headphones loose, so I wore it as big as possible, which I found to be fairly comfortable.
For anything more advanced, including turning Blue Voice or DTS HeadphoneX 2.0 surround sound, you need to change settings in the software. Logitech calls its proprietary wireless tech “Lightspeed,” and the company claims that it offers less latency and is as reliable as wired connections.
My apartment isn’t very large – just a few hundred square feet – but it’s the type of post-war New York City building cursed with who-knows-what in the walls, and my Wi-Fi signal also has intermittent issues there.
Logitech claims 20m (about 65 feet) of wireless range, and while I don’t have that much space in any direction from my gaming PC (though it did make it through a door a few steps outside of my apartment), I believe it’s possible in the right circumstances, but you’ll need the right layout. The 2.4 GHz USB Type-A receiver is a bulky one that took up plenty of space on the back of my desktop, but at least that’s a place I could put it out of sight. The Logitech G733 Lightspeed proved to be a fine gaming headset, especially when taking advantage of its DTS Headphones X 2.0 surround sound support.
For instance, when I played Call of Duty: Warzone, I could hear which way bullets were ringing out from, and, in the gulag, the alarm going off next to my head when it was time to fight for my life. In the G Hub software, I heard myself play back with a bit of a crackle that I couldn’t quite overcome with settings tweaks, and colleagues told me that I sounded subpar over calls. The software is also where you can control the Blue Voice functionality, which easily makes anything that comes through the microphone sound slightly more broadcas quality. If you’re in the Logitech ecosystem, the G733 Lightspeed makes for a nice mid-level gaming headset representing a lightweight option.
